We operate complete dive and water sports center featuring diving, snorkeling, kayaking, and various beach toys on the beach in Maui.

Our Beach Center is at the north end of Wailea Beach adjacent to the Maui Oceanfront Inn, Best Western.  The address is 2980 South Kihei Rd., Kihei Hawaii 96753.

Do you have any diving packages with hotel accommodations?

Yes, we do offer diving packages with hotel accommodations at the Maui Oceanfront Inn, Best Western.  Call us direct for these special prices at 808-875-8486.

Should I make reservations in advance?

In order to guarantee sports on our dive and snorkel boats, it is best to book prior to leaving for your trip.  Just like hotels and airlines, spaces are limited and can sell out.

How far in advance should I make reservations?

There is no set time limit to book.   The earlier you book, the better your chances are of availability.

What do you require to make reservations as far as a deposit or guarantee?

For room packages a two-night room charge is billed in advance and can be cancelled at no charge 72 hours in advance of arrival.  Dive, snorkel and activities are on your card in full at the time of the booking, and can be cancelled at no charge with a 48-hour notice prior to the activity date.

Is it possible to dive with Blue Hawaiian Water Sports with out purchasing hotel accommodations?

Yes, we have tanks and equipment rental at our Beach Center and will book you on your boat dives.

How many people do your dive boats accommodate?

We use four dive boats, three have a 12-person capacity, and one has a 6-person limit.

Do you offer nitrox diving?

Yes, you can reserve a tank through our Beach Center for Nitrox certified divers.  If you are not a nitrox certified diver, we offer PADI Nitrox course (see our courses).

What is the water temperature and should I bring along my wetsuit?

In Maui the water temperature varies from a winter 73 degrees to a summer 78 degrees with no thermocline.  People who get cold easily will need a suit.  We have full suits available for divers rental and on the dive boats.

I am not a certified diver but would like to scuba dive while I am in Maui.  What are my options?

There are three ways you can dive with Blue Hawaiian Water Sports:

First is the full certification course.  PADI certification ($350) takes 4 days to complete at about 5-6 hours per day.

Second, if you choose to take your classes and pool session in your hometown, you can them complete your open water dives with Blue Hawaiian Water Sports in Maui.  This is called an Open Water Referral completion and includes all equipment, consists of 6 dives, and takes 2 days ($299).

Third, if you decide that you don't have enough time or want to test the waters before becoming certified, we do offer a Resort Course for not certified divers which includes instruction, all equipment, and 2 tank beach dive for $110 or 1 tank for $75 (2nd tank optional).

I haven't gone diving in over 2 years.  Should I take a refresher course?

Absolutely, it is highly recommended as some dive boats won't take you or will treat you like a novice diver if it has been over 2 years since your last dive.  We offer a 2 tank refresher/tune-up/tag-a-long dive for $85.

I am a certified and my friend is not, can we dive together?

Your friend can either become certified or take the resort and you tag-a-long as mentioned above.  Also, Snorkelers may accompany divers on some of our diving excursions for a reduced charge.

Are Snorkelers allowed on your dive boats?

Yes at a charge less than the diver rate.  We also suggest that you take a snorkel cruise for a better value and more time together.

Should I bring my own equipment or rent it from you?

Tanks and weights are included at no charge for every guided and/or boat dive.  If you haven't used your equipment in over 6 months test it before you bring it. Also, you won't need a 7mm wetsuit, as our average water temperature of 77 is quite comfortable.  Mask, fins, and snorkel are easy to carry and you will be more at home with these personal items.

What do you charge for rental scuba equipment and do you have any rental packages?

If you book your room through Blue Hawaiian Water Sports for $129 per night you get free weights an a tank of air each day of your stay (up to two people in a room) and complementary continental breakfast each day as well.  BC, regulator, weights are $25 for 24 hours or $100 for the week.
